Vintage Vogue is here for the year!

This card was created for our Team "Shoe Box Swap" Day. I used the Vintage Vogue Stamp Set which has made an appearance in the new 2010/2011 Catalogue and how excited am I - I just love this set! I have also used the Vintage Wheel for the top left hand corner. The inks are Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive along with matching card stock with a little bit of Whisper White thrown in also.

Saturday 14th August saw the wedding of our very special friends Keith and Karren.

A card equally as special was required. I found a template online for a "side step" card and using one of Karren's favourite stamp sets "Lovely as a Tree" this is what I came up with. The background card is Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla. I have used Chocolate Chip and Old Olive Ink and Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon.

The wording is using a BRAND NEW stamp set "Curly Cute".

I have used the sponging technique to add colour to the background of the trees and sponge daubers to go round the edges. You can't see it in the photo however, on the letterign I have used a two way glue pen and dazzling diamonds to add a little bling. This card used 1 x A4 sheet of card stock so it's A5 in size.

I am impressed by how well this card turned out and will be using this template again but for a different design. I would like to keep this card as a one off.

Happy Birthday Rick! And thanks to Lynnette Couper for the awesome tutorial on this card.

Using Whisper White and Baja Breeze cardstock, Windsor Knot Designer Series Paper and Baja Breeze Designer buttons. Extras are: Stampin' Dimensionals and Handsome Hunter Green for Faux Stitching. I also used a smidgen of Baja Breeze Ink and a sponge for the edges.

First attempt and I'm quite proud of myself - will try again next week but tuck the tie into the wasitcoat.

Miss Wilsons Gift

This set is using as above but with Real Red card stock and is a gift for Miss Wilson who is in the class next door and also a very dear friend of ours as well as care giver for Alex - she is just amazing.

Miss T's leaving gift from Alex.

Well Alex leaves school tomorrow - so I made a couple of wee things for him to take to school. The two cards are from Paula Dobson but changed a little to suit my needs/colours. Using SU products: Pixie Pink, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock with Basic Black Ribbon. Stamp Set is Pocket Silouettes. I have also used the 1 inch circle punch.

I also made a "box in a bag" to match. (please note the DSP is not SU). But colours are the same as above and match perfectly. Have also used Cottage Garden stamp set, scallop straight edge punch and designer brads.

This card was designed and created by me. Using Real Red, Old Olive, Whisper White and Basic Black card stock.

Inks: Old Olive and Real Red.

Other: Crystal effects to give the strawberry a glossy 3d look. Old Olive ribbon.

On the back of the black cardstock I measured 1cm in from each side and drew lines so I knew where to score. I think cut corner to corner on the inside square and turned the triangles in to make it like a "door".

It's time for a Colour Renovation

Wow - Stampin' Up! have just made a huge announcement and allowed us to share it with you. It has just been announced to demonstrators world wide that they are doing some major colour renovation! I love this change, it means that Stampin' Up! is striving to keep up to date with the fabulous colours that they will be introducing in out brand new Ida Book & Catalogue that comes out September 1st. The colour families we are used to seeing will be gone and instead there will be these 4 new Colour Collections!

Each Colour Collection contains 10 colours:

5 of these 40 colours are brand new (Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist)
10 are In-Colours either from this current catalogue or even returning favourites from previous years (Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, River Rock, Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze and Wild Wasabi)
and then the remaining colours are the colours that we have been used to seeing in our current colour families and neutrals up until now.

These 4 new colour collections will contain our 40 core colours and then there will be 5 new In Colours each year which will be available for 24 instead of just 12 months - twice as much time to fall in love with them! We will get 5 new In Colours in September 2010 and then in September 2011 Stampin' Up! will add an additional 5 in-colours for a total of 10 in Colours in the 2011-2012 catalogue.

Unfortunately, that means that some of our current colours will have to be removed to make room for all these new colour collections. So you have between now and September to stock up on any ink pads, refills or cardstock in your favourite colours. Don't leave it til the last minute as I imagine as we get closer to that September 1st deadline it will be on a first-come, first-served basis and I would hate for you to miss out.

So which colours are leaving?

Bold Brights: Glorious Green, Green Galore, Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange, Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac, Brillant Blue
Earth Elements: Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Really Rust, Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, Summer Sun

Wild About You

A card created with 10 minutes to spare. The idea was Hubby's! Using Pacific Point card stock and designer series paper to make the base, I then layered Tangerine Tango and Whisper White. Using Pacific Point to stamp my wording. The animals were stamped with co-ordinating inks. The spots on the giraffe were coloured using co-ordinating ink on a blender pen.

Im really pleased with the way this card came out and am most impressed with Hubby!

The Train
I was asked to make some invites to my nephews 5th birthday - which is being held at the cinema. This is option 1.
Whisper White background - using Brilliant Blue and Glorious Green in my "NEW" spritzer tool - I created the mottled type background. My moon was creating by using the masking technique and my bird (which was meant to be a bat - but everyone thinks is a seagull) was done using a marker pen. I stamped the train using Brilliant Blue and the stamp set Choo Choo which is just one of the fantastic stamp sets in the Spring Mini Catalogue (finished this month!). The black film stripe is done using Basic Black card stock - the Large Square Punch and the Slit punch. Very effective I thought. However, we have since had another idea - check back in a week to see what we ended up doing!

Using SU Designer Series Paper for my background - just added a little something to this page. Alex and I had a great time in the pool - after he had had a helping hand throwing me in fully clothed! We are so lucky this pool is just over my sisters back fence!

Using the Seeing Spots roller and wheel I have created a "bubble" like background by simply rolling the wheel in Brilliant Blue Ink (as you can see it matches my back ground card stock perfectly!!) This is my cheeky then 3 yr old nephew tipping water over my hubby. Alex thought it was hillarious! Derek chased him - what else was a 3 yr old to do but run straight to the hose and turn that on his Uncle! Classic!

Old Olive Bugs and Kisses

This card was one of the easiest cards I have ever made and it looks so effective! I made it to show that green and pink actually do go together!

Firstly take a peice of Old Olive cardstock and stamp it with the background stamp from the Bugs and Kisses set using Old Olive Ink. On Very Vanilla stamp the cricket in Old Olive Ink twice and in Pixie Pink once. Also stamp the "Cute as a Bug" saying in Old Olive. Cut into rectangles and mount on opposite colour card stock. The middle cricket I edged the cardstock using Old Olive Ink - just to give it a little something different. Using Stampin Dimensionals, mount the crickets and the wording onto the card. And VIOLA! it's done! Very simple and effective!

Now can you see how pink and green can go together so amazingly!!!

Bright Bolds Scribble This

To create this card, I stamped the flower image from Scribble This Stampin' Up! stamp set onto watercolour cardstock using the Staz On Ink Pad.

I then used Only Orange from Stampin' Up! Bright Bold's watercolour crayons to follow the out line and Yoyo Yellow to cover the dots. Using an aqua painter simply colour over the crayon and it leaves a water colour look.

I mounted the image onto Yoyo Yellowcard stock and Only Orange card stock. Take your background card and using the circle stamp from "Heartfelt Thanks" stampset by Stampin' Up! stamp Yoyo Yellow circles. Once you have done this on half the card, you can then mount your layered image.

Using Only Orange Ink stamp your greeting under the image.

Black and Red Garden Whimsy Card

Take Whisper White card stock and stamp the large butterfly image from Garden Whimsy with black ink. On smaller peices of Whisper White stamp the small butterfly from Garden Whimsy. Layer the Whiser White card stock onto Basic Black card stock making sure there is about 1/2 cm round the edges. On Real Red cardstock layer a piece of Basic Black grosgrain ribbon, the position the three butterfly images.

Underneath the ribbon, stamp the wording from the Garden Whimsey stamp set.

In Colour Bugs and Kisses

Take a piece of Tangerine Tango card stock and using Tangerine Tango ink - stamp the card stock with butterflies from the "Sprinkles" stamp set. You don't need to stamp anywhere in particular - just random over the card stock.

Next take a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and using Tangerine Tango ink stamp the dragonfly from "Bugs and Kisses" stamp set. Cut the dragonfly into three pieces using your Paper Snips. Mount the 3 sections on Riding Hood Red card stock (5cm x 8.5cm) using Stampin' Up! stampin dimensionals. Mount this on a piece of Pacific Point card stock (7cm x 10.5cm).

At the bottom of the card, stamp your wording In Pacific Point ink.

In Colour Garden Whimsy

For this card I have used the New In Colour family from Stampin' Up!

First, take an A4 sheet of Pacific Point Card stock and cut it in half using your paper cutter. Take one of the halves and fold it in half. Take a piece of Whisper White cardstock (6.5cm x 15cm) and stamp the large butterfly with Tangerine Tango then stamp the small butterfly with Riding Hood Red and the big butterfly again with Pacific Point. On a separate peice of Whisper White card stock stamp the small butterfly again in Riding Hood Red and also stamp the wording in Tangerine Tango. Cut the small Riding Hood Red and the wording out. Using a Stamin Dimensional on the back of your cut out small butterfly mount it on top of the Riding Hood Red stamped image. I have just cut around the solid image rather than the antennae and outline. Mount the wording on a peice of Tangerine Tango card stock.

Mount the Whisper White card stock with your stamped images onto a piece of Riding Hood Red card stock (7.5cm x 15cm) then mount on your Pacific Point Card. Finally add the wording.
